When building his spacious detached house, Sven Gerber, the designer and builder-owner, was confronted with a serious challenge: His flat roof design was not in line with the requirements stipulated in the municipal development plan. His simple but effective idea: a high parapet all around the parameter of the hipped roof sloping by merely 10 degrees. Thus, by creating the outer appearance of a flat roof, he managed to meet the requirements of the development plan.
